WHAT THIS PROJECT INCLUDES

WHAT THIS PROJECT INCLUDES

  • A full rebuild of Eggering Drive, from the base up, with new asphalt

  • New curb and gutter

  • A new six-foot sidewalk on one side, set back from the street by a strip of grass

  • New curb ramps at crossings

  • New storm sewer pipe and curb inlets to carry rainwater away

  • New pavement where St. Margaret Lane, Ronnie Drive, and Roland Avenue meet Eggering

  • New striping and street signs

PROJECT AREA: Eggering Drive from Sonderen Street to Sheppard Drive, including the curve at St. Matthew Avenue, in the City of O'Fallon.

CURRENT UPDATE: October 2026

  • Work is underway. Crews are saw-cutting the old concrete on Eggering Drive so it can be removed.

  • At the south end of Sonderen Street, near the railroad tracks, crews are setting forms and base rock for new concrete.

  • The straight lines you see cut into the street are saw cuts. They let crews take out old concrete in clean pieces without damaging what stays.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Eggering Drive will be closed to through traffic. Local traffic only.

  • A marked detour will guide through traffic around the work.

  • You will always be able to get to your home or business.

  • Your driveway may be closed for short periods while new concrete is poured. We will let you know at least 24 hours ahead.

  • Mail delivery will continue. If your mailbox has to move, we will set up a temporary one and put yours back when we are done.

  • Trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup will continue on your regular day.

  • Crews typically work between 7 AM and 7 PM.

  • Expect noise, dust, and equipment in the area while work is going on.

  • Allow extra travel time

  • Follow posted signs and the detour

  • Never drive around barricades

  • Use caution near crews and equipment

  • Watch for children and people walking near the work zone

  • Keep children and pets away from equipment and fresh concrete
