ROAD WORK IS UNDERWAY ON HOPEWELL ROAD

PCX Construction is building the Hopewell Road Improvements project for St. Charles County.

This page is for residents, businesses, and drivers who use Hopewell Road.
WHAT THIS PROJECT INCLUDES

WHAT THIS PROJECT INCLUDES

  • A wider roadway with new six-foot shoulders

  • A new roundabout at Hopewell Road and Diehr Road, with lighting

  • A sidewalk on one side and a ten-foot multi-use path on the other

  • Left turn lanes for safer driveway access

  • Upgraded storm drainage and a new culvert at the creek crossing

  • The southern curve rebuilt to improve sight distance

PROJECT AREA: Hopewell Road from Route N south to just past Diehr Road, in unincorporated St. Charles County.

CURRENT UPDATE: September 2026

  • Temporary traffic signals are removed and both lanes are open.

  • Trucks are entering and exiting the roadway, so please use caution.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Lane closures and shifting traffic patterns

  • Temporary delays, especially at peak travel times

  • Construction crews and equipment in the area

  • Periodic driveway or property access impacts

  • Traffic will be maintained through the work zone, but conditions may change as work progresses

  • Allow extra travel time

  • Follow posted signs and traffic control

  • Use caution near crews and equipment

  • Use alternate routes when possible

This project covers Hopewell Road. The Highway N widening and the planned traffic signal at Hopewell and Duello are separate projects managed by St. Charles County and MoDOT. For questions about those projects, please contact St. Charles County.
